We all have our favorite mahjong sets. My personal favorite is a sushi themed set I picked up years ago, that has hand rolls, sashimi, and ramen bowls. I don't really ever play with it but, it's a great conversational piece and, a prized piece in my mahjong collection.
So, I combed over eBay to find a variety of "Limited Edition" themed mahjong sets. Are they worth all the money you'll pay to get them shipped to the states? Well, I guess that depends on how obsessed you are with that set's theme. Anyway, take a look. Hello Kitty (Hard to find "American" set, with jokers) Hello Kitty - 2010 Year of the Tiger Manchester United - Futbol Team Doraemon To Heart 2 Touhou Pili - No idea what this is but, it's pretty. NBA 2009 - Pacers / Nuggets Since the USPML is based in the NYC area, I thought I'd mention that, there is a Yankees MahJong set floating around out there somewhere. There isn't one on eBay now but, it usually shows up ever once and awhile. Happy Shopping! |

The seller of a lot of these sets, Since1988, is a great and reputable seller. I bought the Hello Kitty set for the Year of the Ox last year and now I'm regretting it, because that Doraemon set really catches my eye. The seller also has the Yankees sets (there were two - one regular and one for their last world series win) but there are occasionally bootlegs of that one floating around. All of her sets are made to Taiwan standards with the rulers and all that, but they're all great looking. Shame they're so pricey, though.

Ah yes, think I've seen one of those before (online). Wow, that is very odd!

Sushi MahJong Set
It's no longer available but, you can still see the webpage for the Sushi tiles on japanese-mahjong.com Got mine about two years ago, I'd hate to have and try to track one down today. Haven't seen one for sale, since then. |
