Hey all. Just wondering if anyone knows or is located around the Dallas area in order to try to form a mahjong group around here.

My wife and I reside in Grand Prairie and would like to find more FTF players. We prefer Riichi but are willing to play other versions.

Agreed. There's something that is just lacking from playing only online. I'm trying to teach my girlfriend about the basic rules right now, so we might have the start of a game potentially. Sent you an e-mail - tell me if you got it or not.

Actually, after hunting around another forum I saw that you (I think) have played mahjong in a board game club in Arlington. Is that a regular occurrence (the mahjong)? If so I'll just swing by there the next meeting.

The South Arlington Gamers meets every Thursday and is dedicated to a wide range of games - mostly euros, war games, and others. If I know you're coming to play mahjong on a Thursday we can find a fourth player and I have no problem devoting the evening to MJ.

Cheers!

Neither anymore right now. Our son's in the hospital because he stopped breathing yesterday. I'll post if he gets better whether we'd be able to go out there in the future, but for right now we won't be going.

I wish him wellness and you strength.  Perhaps we can meet in the not so distant future.

Just wanted to let everyone know how it all turned out. Our son fell into a coma and passed away a few weeks back. The gf and I have kind of taking a nosedive into the world of Riichi mahjong (a handy distraction), so if you arrange two other people to play at some point then we'd like to get together a live game at some point GG.

It is terribly, terribly sad to hear about your loss. There is nothing worse than the loss of a child.

Nothing.

Please accept our condolences.

When you are up to it, let me know when you can make a Thursday evening visit to the Arlington Highlands Borders.

Regards,

Gg
